Grounding/Earthing to Heal
Grounding refers to direct skin contact with the surface of the Earth, such as by walking barefoot. For most of our evolutionary history, humans have had continuous contact with the earth.
But our modern-day living encourages insulating footwear, high-rise buildings, and elevated beds that separate most humans from direct skin connection with the Earth’s surface. It is only recently that substances such as asphalt, wood, rugs, and plastics have separated us from the earth.
Yet studies, measurements, and experiences have shown that sustained contact with the Earth yields powerful and importantly, easily accessible, health benefits.
